Indian government has launched AAKASH Tablet computer. The "Akash" or "sky" was launched by by Kapil Sibal, the Human Resources Development Minister, the tablet was launched in New Delhi.
The 'Aakash' was developed by Indian government with cooperation of Britain based company Data Wind. We hope that Aakash will bring the digital age to millions of students across India. The government of India decided to give this tablet to students only in Rs. 1100.

The Akash has Android 2.2 operating system. An Android Operating System includes a set of C/C++ libraries used by various components of the Android OS. Android is developed using C and C++ core libraries so obviously it allow to run C++ Compiler.
The compiler we can run on Akash may not our familiar Turbo C++.
Please tell me where are the buying centres in delhi to get Aakash ubislate 7 ?
Will only students get it ?

Akash Ubislate Tablet can not be directly sold by dealers. The akash tablet is made for students so students has more priority to get akash and distribution will be done by the government.

Distribution of Akash tablet will be done by Government and it may take some time to reach an Akash to cities in Gujarat.
An Akash is developed for students so students will get it first but when and where is not known from any source.

i heard about the newer version of Aakash Tablet ..Named "Aakash 2"....as the aakash 1 was a super flop as told by rajastan iit's ...............
The Aakash-2, based on feedback from over 500 users of Aakash-1 in IITs and other institutions, will have a new microprocessor of 800 megahertz as compared to the 366 megahertz processor. It will speed up the tablet computer and enable downloading of videos from YouTube.

I think we can run C and C++ on Aakash Tablet or we can't then software developers will develop software for Akash tablet using which we can compile C and C++ programs.
The another way to run C and C++ program on Aakash is to use online C,C++ compiler provided by codepad.org

I don't know whether Aakash tablet will be distributed to 11th or 12th students. In Gujarat GTU (Gujarat Technological University) has send Circular to All colleges for Aakash Tablet Requirements so probably GTU college students will get Aakash tablet first.
